Job Announcement
UCC is under the leadership of six Elders with active Youth and Campus Ministries. Our church facilities are located across the street from the 16,000 student campus of New Mexico State University (NMSU). Goals important to UCC are reaching out to University students, the needy, the Hispanic population and being involved in the community at large. Intra-congregational goals include drawing a large number of our members to be involved in 1) personal and corporate worship, 2) bible classes and small groups, and 3) at least one additional ministry that reflects their own gifts and talents.
The Minister will have the primary responsibility for proclaiming God's Word at designated worship services. He should have a deep Bible knowledge and the ability to be spiritually and intellectually challenging and inspiring. He should be able to educate the congregation in Biblical insight, Christian doctrine and personal application. It is expected that the Minister will occasionally be involved in teaching bible classes, one-on-one bible studies, conducting member and non-member visitation, and conducting some special events (weddings, funerals, church outreach activities, etc.).
An applicant should possess a servant's heart, be passionate about evangelism and be enthusiastic about his calling. He should be a team player, willing to work under the direction of the elders and alongside the other UCC staff ministers. If married, his spouse should also be committed to supporting, encouraging and participating in his ministry. Experience: Demonstrates successful ministerial service reflecting a spiritually mature individual. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Education: At least a Bachelor’s Degree with studies in Bible and Ministry or equivalent from an accredited University or equivalent. Our Assembly Style: Blended traditional and contemporary acapella music. Moderately informal but reverent worship.
